Marc Matsumoto and Maki Ogawa holding colorful bento on the Bento Expo set

Marc Matsumoto

Media

English- and Japanese-language hosting, commentary, and interviews on Japanese food and culture.

Food is usually where my on-camera work starts, but it rarely ends there. It is a way into culture, business, history, and the habits that shape everyday life in Japan.

For nine seasons, I co-hosted Bento Expo on NHK WORLD-JAPAN, sharing Japanese home cooking and bento culture with audiences around the world. Since 2010, I have worked in English and Japanese across studio hosting, cooking competitions, travel programs, interviews, and expert commentary.
